AMPRESTIGE

Film Looks, Vol. 01

Elevated vibes, forged after hours.

Cinematic colour for Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere. Graded by eye, tested on real faces, and rebuilt whenever two looks started to feel like the same look.

On Real Footage

Not swatches. The actual grades.

Every look, shot and graded on real footage — so you see exactly what lands on your timeline, not a promise.

Pro Bundle

Colour is only half of film.

A LUT remaps colour. It can't carry grain, because grain is texture. That's why graded footage can still read as digital — the colour is right and the surface is wrong. Six overlays, ordered light to heavy.

G1LightBarely-there 35mm. Modern and clean.
35F35mm FineSoft, organic fine grain.
G335mm DirtyFine grain with film dust and specks.
16M16mm MediumClassic and noticeable. The everyday film look.
G5HeavyDense 35mm. Pushed and gritty.
S8Super 8 CoarseHeavy clumps. Vintage and aged.

Set the blend mode to Hard Light, not Overlay. The grain is gentle by design — that's what keeps it from reading as digital noise — so on Overlay it can look almost invisible.

Under the Hood

For the ones who lean in.

The looks sell themselves on your footage. But if you want the receipts, here’s the actual color science — measured straight from the LUTs.

The Collection

Seven grades that each do a different job.

No forty-variation filter dump. Every look here survived a round where it was cut for being too close to its neighbour.

Questions

The short answers.

Does this work in Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere?

Yes — all three. The looks ship as .cube LUTs, the universal format every major editor reads natively. In Final Cut Pro, add the Custom LUT effect to a clip or adjustment layer. In DaVinci Resolve, apply them on the Color page or drop them into a node. In Premiere, load them into the Lumetri Color panel's LUT slot. Same files, same look, whichever you cut in.

Will it wreck my skin tones?

That was the thing tested for first. Each look was graded by eye on footage with faces in it, and the colour work is weighted so skin sits in the midtones rather than getting dragged around by the shadow and highlight tinting.

Why isn't film grain built into the LUTs?

Because it can't be. A LUT is a colour lookup — it maps one colour to another and has no way to add texture. Anyone selling a LUT with "grain included" is selling you a colour cast. The grain ships as six separate overlays in the Pro Bundle.

What about the 24fps look?

That's frame rate and shutter angle, not colour. Shoot or set your timeline to 24fps with a roughly 180° shutter. No LUT can do it for you.

Can I use these on client work?

Yes. Use them on commercial and client projects as much as you like. You just can't resell or redistribute the files themselves.

Refunds?

Digital goods are final sale. That's exactly why the First Look is free — try the quality on your own footage before you spend anything.
